Former Engie executive Greg Billman hired to launch Habitat Energy Australia

Habitat Energy has launched its Australian business, bringing the UK’s leading algorithmic optimisation platform for battery storage and flexible assets to one of the fastest growing clean energy markets in the world. Based in Melbourne, Habitat Energy Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd will be led by Ben Irons and Greg Billman.

Greg joins Habitat Energy from ENGIE Australia where he was Executive General Manager overseeing strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, business development and trading activities. He has also spent nearly six years in the United Kingdom as Energy Trading Manager of ENGIE portfolio. Greg has deep knowledge of Australian energy markets, asset optimisation and route to market, so is the ideal person to grow our business there.

Habitat Energy’s PowerIQ platform has already been customised for the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and will be moving to full operational readiness in coming months. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss our views on revenue potential and investment opportunities in Australian energy storage and solar+storage.
